One of the main goals of estate planning is to provide for loved ones, and for many of our clients “loved ones” includes their pets. While you can always ask a friend or relative to look after your pet, your friend or relative isn’t legally obligated to do so unless you set up a special trust for this. Alaska law recognizes the validity of Pet Trusts and we can help you create a trust for your pets to provide a plan to assure that they will be well cared for.
Have you ever seriously considered what will become of your pets if you were to pass away unexpectedly or become disabled? If not, we would be happy to discuss pet trusts with you to see if you should establish such a trust as part of your estate plan.
